The Word That Built Everything Psalms 33 Series, Part 2
- Candice Madrid
If your foundation is built on whatever is trending, your foundation will always feel unstable. And if your decisions are built on opinions, you will constantly second guess yourself.
That is where we are picking up today as we continue the Psalms 33 Series. This week we are digging into something that changes the way you build, the way you make decisions, and the way you see your calling. We are talking about the Word that built everything. Because the same Word that spoke everything into existence is the same Word you are building on. You are not building on a good idea. You are building on creation level power.
God's Word Is the Standard, Not an Opinion
Psalms 33:4 says, "For the word of the Lord is right."
The core truth here is that God's Word is not open to opinion. It is the standard everything else is measured against. When the scripture says His Word is right, it is not saying it is usually right. It is saying it is always right. Not when it is convenient. Not when it aligns with culture. Not when it feels good. It is right, period.
And we live in a time where there are a lot of voices. So called experts, strategies, opinions. If you have studied marketing at all, you know that we are all taught to speak to somebody's desire and somebody's want and somebody's dream. And that is exactly why it is so important to have a solid foundation so you can use discernment.
I am guilty of it too. I have bought courses where I was like, why did I buy that? Because of strategy. Because they were right there at that moment. There is psychology behind all of it. Some of these people call themselves coaches and mentors and they really truly are not. They are not here to mentor or coach you. It is a business.
That is why, especially as a Kingdom business owner, it is so important to be in your Word. It teaches you about society, about how people think, about business. It teaches you how to sow, how to plant, and how to allow things to grow. A lot of people try to paint this book as a religious thing and it is not. It is life. It is a living Word and that is why it is called The Living Word.
God's Word is not advice. It is authority. So where have you been looking for direction outside of God's Word? Whose voice has been louder than His in your own process?
His Faithfulness Is Already Attached to Your Calling
Psalms 33:4 through 5 says, "And all His work is done in faithfulness. The earth is full of the loving kindness of the Lord."
God does not just speak truth. He backs it with faithfulness. Everything God does is done in faithfulness. Not partly. Not occasionally. Everything. That means He does not start something and then walk away from it. So if God has called you to build something, His faithfulness is already attached to it.
That reminds me of Isaiah 55:11 when He says that no word will return to Him void. If He tells you it is going to be done, it is going to be done because He is the one that planted that word in you. And sometimes we begin to worry. We get the calling and we go, I do not know if I can do this. We begin to break ourselves down. But He did not say, here is the vision, you figure it out. He said, here is the vision. Do you have trust and faith in me?
I have literally had to say this out loud in my own life. I am a planner. I would get the vision and immediately try to figure out the how. And there have been moments where I had to say it out loud. It is none of my business how you are going to make this happen. But I am here and I am moving in it. He is going to make it happen. I just have to walk in it and be faithful.
Discernment Changes the Way You Build
This is speaking from a business owner who had to learn so much in the past two years about partnering with people, bringing contractors into the business, and having to let contractors go because I could feel that there was not peace there. I could feel manipulation. I could see things.
But the only reason I could see these things was because the Word gave me that discernment. It gave me that strength and it gave me the words. While reading His Word and building my business, I heard multiple times: believe the actions, not the words.
There was a season where I had people partnered with me and they could talk a good game. It just never happened. I did not get upset about it because I was in the Word. But it made me realize their actions were not matching their words. And I had to tell them this is not going to work out.
We do not need to change for people. If there is change that needs to be done within us, it needs to be for the Lord. And usually once you get in the Word, He just pulls it off.
The Same Word That Created Everything Is What You Are Building On
Psalms 33:6 through 9 says, "For He spoke and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast."
God's Word is not just informative. It is creative and sustaining power. Everything you see, the heavens, the earth, the ocean, it all started with His Word. He did not gather materials. He did not test ideas. He spoke and it was done.
And we have to remember that we are created in His likeness. We have that power with our words and we have to be careful not to speak doubt over our own lives. When we say things out loud, we are speaking them into existence. That is not some woo woo idea. That comes straight from scripture. In Matthew, it speaks about knocking and the door will be opened. In Genesis, the Lord speaks life into existence. It is all here in the Word of God.
Step Back and See the Whole Picture
Sometimes we get overwhelmed in the day to day. We focus on this hour, this to do list, this week. And we start spinning. But here lately, God has been making me step back and look at the whole picture. Look at how far He has brought me.
I had a friend who told me this is her year that she is getting her life back. About four hours later, she called me and the first thing she said was, "But God." The Lord showed her all the hardships she had walked through and where she is now. Full circle. That her life belongs to Him and everything she went through would be used for His good.
That same day, my husband and I were reading Genesis about Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Egypt. He told them not to be afraid because the Lord sent him before them. He had to go through all those things so he could save his family. Sometimes we just need to step back. When we can see how faithful He has been to us, we can trust He will continue to be faithful as we move forward.
Kingdom Mindset Over Pyramid Mindset
I have skills, talents, and abilities that you do not have. And you have skills, talents, and abilities that I do not have. That is the way we expand the Kingdom.
A lot of people when they think of business want to be the boss with people working underneath them. That is pyramid. That is not Kingdom. A Kingdom mindset means God is our boss. You and I connect side by side because you have gifts I do not have and I have gifts you do not have. We partner together to build. That is expanding the Kingdom.
There is still order. That order comes from maturity and wisdom. We do need wise counsel. But there is a difference between building a pyramid with task masters and working together to build each other and expand the Kingdom of God.
Where to Start
If you want to read the Bible but do not know where to start, here are three places. If you are a business owner, start in Proverbs. If you need a little extra love, start in Ephesians. And if you want to really shake things up, go to Isaiah.
If you are listening to this, you are a builder. You are somebody that is building for the Kingdom of God.
