You're Sitting on a Gold Mine, Reuse Your Content

  • Candice Madrid

I'm going to be real with you, we're all exhausted, burnt out, and convinced we need to create MORE content when the truth is: you're sitting on a gold mine of content you've already created.

The Content Creation Trap

Here's what's happening: We create, create, create. Social media has conditioned us, new content every day, post three times a day, constant output.

But what's happening is you're just throwing all these seeds and you're not watering them. You're forgetting about them. And we can still use them.

The YouTube Channel That Exploded

I had a client with a YouTube channel that had maybe 200 subscribers after years of posting. When she came to me, instead of telling her to create more content (she didn't have time), we saw something different.

We saw a treasure chest of content just sitting there.

So we took her existing videos, spliced them into bite sizes, and created a consistent posting strategy using what she'd already made.

Her YouTube channel exploded. And we've used that same strategy for other clients since.

Think About Commercials

You see the same commercial over and over. You don't see a brand new commercial for the same product every time.

Reuse your content. That video from a year ago? Splice it up and share it. Those photos on your phone nobody's seen? Use them. Books you wrote years ago? Update them and relaunch.

The Real Problem

We do not have an issue with content creation. We have an issue with being consistent strategically.

You don't need more content. You need a strategy for using what you've already built.

Nothing Is New Under the Sun

My college professor Julie Boland told me something I'll never forget when I was stressing about creating something totally unique:

"Nothing is new under the sun. Stop overthinking it."

Be inspired by what you see, take it, and make it your own.

The Biblical Foundation

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin." — Zechariah 4:10

The Lord rejoices to see the work begin. He put a calling on you and it excites Him to see you move.

Everyone's waiting for a breakthrough, but it's called break through. That means there needs to be movement.

What You Do Now

  1. Go through your content from the past year

  2. Find what taught something valuable or got engagement

  3. Splice it, update it, refresh it

  4. Create a content calendar using what you already have

  5. Show up consistently with your gold mine

You can't get it right until you start.
